Good News in Goshen

In a recent issue of The Goshen News Pastors Karl Shelly and Andrew
Wollman used the Pastor’s Pen column to open their opposite views on
homosexuality. On the July 15 and 16 The Goshen News devoted the two
issues to a continued discussion of the issue.

The last paragraph of the editorial for Sunday, July 15 reads: “What
matters to us is that you read this series with understanding and respect
in your heart and remember that someone else’s beliefs are just as
important to them as your beliefs are to you.” Interested persons are
invited to go online to www.goshennews.com and click the “life” toggle on
the left side of the screen.

There is discussion by academics from Goshen College and Notre Dame,
representatives from major religions, and Goshen businesspersons are
involved in the discussion. It seems like something good is happening in Goshen.

About Martin Lehman

I was born 92 years ago, the son of a Mennonite pastor and organic gardener in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. At age 10 I was baptized as a member of the Marion Mennonite Church. I own the "Old Fool" moniker because I want to walk the Jesus Way even though the world and much of the church takes me as a fool for doing so. In my life I have moved from being a young conservative to an elderly radical. I tell that story in My Faith Journey posted on my website.
