Life’s intersections

The Old Fool took some pictures at the rain garden that he did not include in the earlier

The Neighbor

post. One is of a neighbor woman who came with her little girl to watch the proceedings. The garden was near her house. The Old Fool assumed that she welcomed the garden and imagined that her little girl in a few years would be a part of the Campus Center for Young Child Care.  He hopes to take her picture to her sometime when he visits the garden.  He doesn’t know her name.

The Winner

The other picture was of a CMC Volunteer.  The Old Fool knew her and her two older brothers when she was a little girl. She is a bit younger than he.  Now she is the widow of a former pastor and lives in Greencroft. Her smile, as Kate said, is a winner.  We did not expect to meet at this intersection of life. The Old Fool to his surprise took her picture on the spur of the moment.

About Martin Lehman

I was born 92 years ago, the son of a Mennonite pastor and organic gardener in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. At age 10 I was baptized as a member of the Marion Mennonite Church. I own the "Old Fool" moniker because I want to walk the Jesus Way even though the world and much of the church takes me as a fool for doing so. In my life I have moved from being a young conservative to an elderly radical. I tell that story in My Faith Journey posted on my website.
